I am probably the last person on earth that depends on an appropriate environment/circumstance/situation to make things happen. I do them anyway and pray the opportunity is right.
But unlike most situations, sometimes there is the perfect setting, the perfect environment, the perfect climate that gives you big, open hints that the timing is just right to do something.
If not action something, sometimes the climate is just right to make you feel a certain way that helps you get more inspired or motivated to live your best life.
Now where is all of this coming from you ask? Well, the answer lies in my city’s current climate. And I am not going to lie, but this climate is simply…
Now do I mean perfect in terms of temperature? Yes, I do. It’s not too hot, it’s not too cold. The nights are cool and windy and the days are sunny and breezy. But that’s not the main reason why.
The main reason why this is the perfect climate for me is the way it makes me feel.
There is just something about the cloudy, rainy air that takes my breath away every time I look at it. Yes, there are rare moments of sunshine to some people’s relief, but majority of the day is greeted with beautiful silver clouds.
And with this climate it feels like the whole city is hibernating. The everyday hustle and bustle is layered with a blanket of calm, soothing the dusty, erratic air of the city for a little while.
The sky looks like its teasing you with light drizzles at any given point of time, cooling the hot, itchy roads and comforting the earth with its delicate showers.
Everything smells like it’s been cleansed in the rain and everything feels like it can have a fresh new beginning. A new start to do whatever they like, however they like it.
There is just something about the air that makes you come alive, with the same vitality as the lighting that occasionally surges the sky. The rain feels pure, the winds feel ecstatic.
And a part of you feels free.
Maybe it’s just me.
But this climate in all honesty, is like magic. It never fails to inspire me, it never fails to charm me and it never fails to comfort me.
The atmosphere turns into the main fuel for my ideas for the season. It breathes new life into the goals and dreams I had let run dry over the months. It encourages me to be a fresher version of myself and be more mindful of my surroundings.
And of course, this climate fuels the desire for lots of hot chocolates and cups of aromatic tea, sitting in cozy little café’s, coffee shops with notebooks and insightful conversations as the best company.
Writing turns into second nature for me, and the need to put my intricate thoughts on paper turn into a necessity. Concepts and thoughts come alive on ruled paper and a blueprint of my future goals are further charter out in the best way I know how.
This climate is hypnotic, mesmerizing and ethereal.
It makes me feel like another person. A better version of myself. A more inspired me. A productive me. A more… conscious me.
I love this version of me. And this annual climate just helps me remind myself how capable I can be, hoping it doesn’t always depend on the atmosphere to bring this part of me out. It’s like a wake-up call that says ‘hey! Time to remember all the things you told yourself you will do that will help make your dreams come true. Here is some much-needed inspiration to help you get back on track’.
And boy, does it help you get back on track.
And yes, I don’t wholly depend on the climate to work towards my goals. I don’t wait for inspiration to strike me, or ideas to be awaked by some external factor. I do my level best to ensure I go look actively look for inspiration and muses.
But sometimes, there is no harm in taking advantage of your surroundings. Everyone needs a little help sometimes.
And sometimes that help can come in the form of the perfect climate.
(There is a reason why this blog is called days of rain and summer, you know)
May you make perfect use of your perfect climate,
